Unusual ways to boost creativity
We all have our ways of doing things. And I guess we do things in a particular way depending on who we are and the habits that we´ve developed. I have my usual ways to boost my creativity, but how about trying some unusual ways for a change? Here you can find some... http://psychcentral.com/blog/archives/2011/05/16/over-40-playful-yet-practical-ways-to-cultivate-creativity/ Tomorrow I will go for absurdism. There is too little of that in my life right now!

My way of meditating
Making up my own unplanned patterns and trying to think about nothing while I do it, is my way of meditating.

Recycling a party
Recycling is one of my passions, and last night I found out that the kids shared the interest too. I was about to throw away some trash from my daughters birthday party when I heard a scream: -MUM, DON`T DO IT! -Why? I asked, really surprised..... -Cause I´m gonna make a collage out of it, my daughter said. And, well, everything can turn to art from the power of imagination.

Patterns that inspires me
One of my favorite instagram inspirators is @patternplan. The paintings tells me everything is possible. The combination of patterns is eternal :) It fills me with hope and strength. Makes me wanna paint in bright colors!!:)

A reason to look back
There is a thousand reasons to be present, some reasons to plan for the future and sometimes it´s even ok to sneak back and look at the past for a while. At least when it comes to artwork. I went to my storage a few blocks away to look for a lamp to my studio, but found something completely different. Behind a big canvas there was a couple of smaller ones that I painted 20 years ago. They looked like hell and I was glad I was alone in the warehouse, cause I felt kind of embar

So much more than just a song...
I red an article about Benny Andersson from ABBA. He seem to be a very insightful person who have said many clever things about creativity along the years. http://www.dn.se/kultur-noje/musik/med-vemodet-som-standig-foljeslagare/ People have criticized ABBA and their songs for being kitschy and shallow, simple to write and easy to perform. But Benny, of cause, know that this isn´t the way it is. The problem is that people just can´t see the uncountable hours of practice, fai

Creativity and life satisfaction
So, I guess I am not the only one that gets happy from being creative. And being creative together with friends is a great bonus! Many researchers argue there is a link between happiness and creativity. When you are happy you are more creative. And it works both ways. [---] experts say there’s a strong connection between creative expression and overall wellbeing. Key components of the creative personality, like novelty-seeking and perseverance, are also good predictors of lif

Mc Happy Day
Happiness lies in the soul of the beholder. There are good days and there are bad days depending on your state of mind. Today was a very good one. Workshop with good friends and lots of flow!

Tre rule of "ok for now"
When it comes to painting (not very often sketching as it is a rapid kind of expression) I try to go by the rule "ok for now". When something is just that, I leave it, and start with another painting or art project.. When I´m almost done with the painting in the cross over project, I go back to the art work I did before to check if ok for now still rules. If not. I´ll try to adjust it. If it´s far from ok, I´ll paint it over to make room for something new. I think I go by thi

Wooden planks and wafer chocolate
It sure took a while to finish this. I made uncountable attempts before I finally solved it. Sometimes the process is smooth but most often it isn´t. I think I worked with this for 6 weeks, on and off, and made several sketches along the way. It looks like it´s so easy to paint, but for me it was´t. When I was really tired and on my way to give up, I had a bar of wafer chocolate, and voilá -the solution came to me! Just when I was off guard and did´t suspect it.... The chocol
