To be inspired by inspiring others
One thing that I particularly love about my work is to get the chance to inspire others by having workshops. I usually arrange workshops for adults, but today I had the priviledge to lead a workshop for a bunch of 8-year olds! And I have to say that I enjoyed it the whole time. The assignment was to paint a big painting together and make an interlaced pattern out of symbols given or just out of their own imagination. The main reason that I love having workshops is that I love

Loosen your creativity, -it´s springtime!
One of my favorite inspirators is Austin Kleon. Check out www.austinkleon.com He really seem to be an open creative and limitless person, -but still streetsmart and down to earth, when it comes to how you can optimize your creativity and learn to use it who ever you are. He talks about how you can learn to be more creative, in your own way, and how to find your own expression. Some of the tip he gives is: -Look around and see what you can use -Don´t wait to start until you kn

Insta Inspiration
And now I think it´s time for some Insta Inspiration. One of my favorites right now is @SUEISH I love digital art. And this really inspires me a lot! Even though I don´t know how it´s done....

Motivation and creativity
I hav been thinking quite a lot about creativity and motivation and there sure is much written about the subject. I found an interesting article at https://creativitytheories.wikispaces.com/Creativity+and+Motivation The debate about wheather reward is inhibiting or decreasing creativity has been going on more than 40 years and the article summarize it quite well and gives a broad insight in the matter. The article sais that, not surprisingly, people are most motivated for a t

The building blocks of a painting
I am thinking much about the building blocks of a painting, and a drawing too for that matter. But to build up a painting is much harder for me than making a drawing or a sketch. And when I´m trying to make a painting out of a sketch, the result gets very different in the end, and not the way I originally planned. Sometimes it´s good, but many times the result is rubbish. It´s like it´s hard to get the vision of the picture out of my head and down through my hands and into th

How to motivate others to be more creative
I just have to talk more about motivation and creativity. I think it´s extremely fascinating and a neverending source to dig from. I found another blog, written by Todd B Kashdan http://www.creativitypost.com/psychology/16_ways_to_motivate_anyone Kashdan writes about the major impact that motivation has on creativity. But, the information is quite useless if you try to motivate everybody in the same way. You have to know what they prioritize and what is their most important i

Easter colors
I love Easter. And even if the original meaning behind it is something completely different, -I like that it´s symbolized by all the colors of the rainbow nowardays. Strong clear colors, that makes me happy and a bit more childish and playfull than usual. Now it is time to paint eggs and play some egg games before Easter Dinner. Happy Easter Everyone! #ColorsLindaDafnerot #Dafnerotart

The secret spice
My son Max sketches a lot these days. I try not to push him, nor hold him back. And I give him encouraging feedback every now and then, hoping he will grow up and believe in himself whatever he decides to do. But I also realize it´s hard to encourage without curling. To keep a balance between helping too much and strengthen his self confidence by letting him meet manageable challenges. He is a dedicated and sensitive person, that is totaly passionate about sketching and drawi

To sit beside a child
One thing that I enjoy is to sit beside my son or daughter and watch them do something creative. They seem to be so absorbed by the task at hand, and I wonder what´s going on in their minds. Whatever it is, it makes me want to create something too. It´s like their creativity and enthusiasm in contagious.

From order to chaos, and back again
For me painting is pretty much a balance between chaos and order. The white empty canvas just makes me nervous and paralyzed, so I have to soil the surface in any way possible. Most often with a black and white pattern, -and then paint it over. Again. But with a thin layer of a color that I like for the moment. I went from order, to chaos and then back to something close to order again. Many times I have hoped there was an easier way, but I guess I just have to accept, this
